About Me

My quilting journey began in the 1980's.  I always thought that quilting meant constructing a quilt with needle and thread by hand.  I was delighted to find an adult education class that introduced the "new" technique of rotary cutting and using a machine for piecing and quilting by machine.  I discovered that machine quilting is my passion and completed many quilts over the years on my domestic sewing machine.  My passion escalated when I discovered Longarm Quilting Machines!  That discovery has led me to a vocation in longarm quilting and  as a representative for American Professional Quilting Systems (APQS).  I am blessed to be surrounded by beautiful quilts and delight in the thread play which brings these quilts to life!

The past 35 years have been spent mastering machine piecing, quilting and applique techniques, as well as hand-piecing, hand-quilting and applique.  My longarm expertise has been enhanced by participating in numerous training classes by nationally and internationally recognized teachers including:  Birgit Schueller, Karen McTavish, and Irena Bluhm.  I teach longarm classes and hold certification in McTavishing.  I continue to enjoy classes and workshops and learning new techniques in all areas of quilting.

All quilting is hand-guided on my 2013 APQS Millennium.  I consider my Millennium a tool which I use, along with thread, rulers, patterns and guides to execute the perfect finishing touch for my customer's lovingly pieced tops.  We are partners in the process of completing the quilt.
